Veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has finally broken her silence following the painful loss of her only son, Ayomikun.
In an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Friday morning, the actress expressed deep gratitude to her fans, colleagues, and well-wishers who stood by her family through the storm.
“A new month, a new dawn. The past months have been heavy, but your love, prayers, and condolences have carried me through the storm. Today I rise, stronger, grateful, and ready to embrace my passion again. The screens have missed me… and I’m back, doing what I love most”, she said.
Her heartfelt words marked her first public statement since the death of her son, Ayomikun, in September.
Earlier reports revealed that Peju’s son, Ayomikun, passed away after a brief illness in Ibadan. A family statement issued by Yemi Amodu, the family spokesperson, clarified that contrary to circulating rumours, the young man died peacefully and had since been laid to rest.
“Ayomikun died after a brief illness in Ibadan and has since been buried”, Amodu confirmed at the time.
The tragedy sent shockwaves across the Yoruba movie industry, prompting an outpouring of love and sympathy from fans and colleagues alike.

Now, Peju’s video signals a new beginning. The actress, who has been a fixture in Yoruba cinema for over three decades, says she’s ready to step back into her craft with renewed strength and purpose.
Her message, both tender and powerful, resonated deeply with fans who flooded her comments section with prayers and warm words of encouragement.
