Nicki Minaj Praises Trump’s Big Move on Nigeria, Calls for Global Awareness on Christian Persecution

American rapper Nicki Minaj has voiced concern over the increasing persecution of Christians around the world, warning that it is “dangerous” for people to pretend not to notice acts of religious violence.

In a heartfelt post shared via X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the Pink Friday rapper reacted to reports that U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration had designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) over ongoing violations of religious freedom.

Nicki Minaj said she felt deep gratitude for living in a nation where people can freely worship God and urged the global community not to turn a blind eye to the plight of those being oppressed for their faith.

“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God,” she wrote. “No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.”

The rapper added that religious persecution remains a growing global crisis, stressing that ignoring such acts would only deepen the suffering of innocent people.

“Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror, and it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice,” she said. “Thank you to The President and his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

Nicki’s comments came shortly after reports confirmed that Nigeria had been officially listed among countries with severe violations of religious freedom. The designation, made under the International Religious Freedom Act, spotlights nations where systematic oppression and violence are targeted at specific faith groups.

Her post quickly gained traction online, with many of her followers applauding her for using her platform to raise awareness about religious persecution, a subject many celebrities often avoid.
