Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido turned up the emotion at his jam-packed Godswill Akpabio International Stadium concert in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, during the opening leg of his highly-anticipated 5IVE Alive Nigeria Tour.
The night was electric with tens of thousands of fans thundered in to witness the artist unleash his catalogue of hits.
Amid the roar, one fan caught on camera couldn’t hold back tears as the singer’s performance moved him deeply. Davido reposted the clip on his Instagram story with the caption:
“I’m so happy my music can make y’all feel this way❤️”
In a separate statement at a pre-concert reception hosted by Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Davido explained why Akwa Ibom was the first stop for his Nigerian tour.
He said the state’s world-class infrastructure played a key role.
“When we were looking around Africa, five places came, and Akwa Ibom was at the top of the list. A lot of people are flying from other states that don’t have this type of facility… You have a standard facility, that’s why we are starting here.”
Fans quickly turned to social media to praise the emotional moment and the singer’s connection with his audience.
