Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has finally addressed the viral rumours suggesting she secretly got married.
The “Maradona” crooner, who has been relatively quiet in the music scene in recent months, made the clarification during an interview with Yanga FM Lagos, where she firmly stated that she is “not yet married.”
Rumours had been swirling online that Niniola’s reduced public appearances were due to a secret marriage, allegedly kept away from the spotlight to protect her career and bookings.
Setting the record straight, the 38-year-old singer dismissed the claims, insisting that she had nothing to hide.
“I don’t care whatever anyone does or says [regarding my personal life]. After all, I’m not a 12-year-old. I’m old enough to say whatever it is I want to say with my full chest. I’m not married”, she said.
Speaking further, Niniola touched on why she hasn’t yet released a collaboration with her younger sister, Teni, despite fans constantly requesting it.
According to her, the collaboration will only happen when the timing and circumstances are right.
“Music is business. There’s no family in business”, she stated.
Niniola, known for her energetic performances and hit singles like “Boda Sodiq” and “Sicker,” also hinted that she has new projects in the works, reassuring fans that she’s not stepping away from the spotlight anytime soon.
Her comments have since sparked reactions online, with fans praising her honesty and professionalism.
