Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has shown off her Mainland house, hours after surviving a near-death experience when the POP ceiling of her Lekki home collapsed.
The movie star, who escaped unhurt, revealed that this was the second time in two months she had narrowly cheated death. Sharing a video of the damage, she hinted that while she might look happy online, she had been going through tough moments privately.
“Sometimes, I dey laugh online but deep down, I’m going through a lot,” she wrote, hinting at her frustration with the incident.
The actress lamented the poor quality of buildings in Lekki, expressing disappointment at developers who build “substandard houses” and still sell them for outrageous prices.
Hours later, Nkechi took to Instagram to share photos of her Mainland house, which she proudly built in 2021, declaring that the structure has remained solid ever since.
“I built this house in 2021, and to date, not a single thing don shift,” she wrote. “The way these Lekki developers build substandard houses and give it out at ridiculous prices is alarming. But I no do again.”
The actress also hinted that she was moving back to the Mainland, jokingly referring to herself as “bush girl” for choosing peace of mind over luxury.
“Hey baby, see you soon, or maybe an elder sister loading. The Ashiere wey dey abuse me say I build house inside bush don leave me for Lekki run go back her village. Make me sef dey go back my bush, Lekki ese ooo.”
Her post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with fans applauding her for her resilience and for prioritizing safety over social status.
This isn’t the first time a celebrity has suffered such an incident. Last year, actress Ruth Eze shared a similar story after the ceiling in her living room collapsed, thanking God for sparing her life.
Despite her ordeal, Nkechi Blessing remains optimistic. In July, she signed a life-changing brand deal, describing it as a major turning point in her career. She credited her success to God, writing, “Delay is not denial. The devil did his thing, but God still came through.” For Nkechi, leaving Lekki might just be the start of a safer, saner chapter.
