Nigerian singer Davido’s elder brother, Adewale Adeleke, better known as Wale, has sparked debate after hinting that the award-winning artist’s net worth exceeds ₦500 billion.

This all started when Wale shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) featuring himself, Davido, and other members of the HKN Gang, captioning it simply:

“HKN Gang!”

Moments later, a Twitter influencer identified as Abazz reacted under the post, writing:

“Over 500 billion naira in one picture.”

But Adewale Adeleke quickly corrected that assumption, replying:

“David alone is worth more than 500 billion naira.”

The confident remark immediately reignited conversations about Davido’s fortune; from his global music earnings and sold-out tours to his multi-million naira endorsements and family background.

While Forbes’ latest list of African billionaires doesn’t feature Davido, Wale’s statement has once again blurred the line between music wealth and family legacy.

The online space quickly lit up with mixed reactions as fans debated the bold claim.

@theomotayoo wrote: “If e reach your turn, no clarify.” @jee8734 commented: “I sha like how this family fights for themselves… the love choke.”

@_omega1 added: “Means that squad is priceless. Take it or leave it.” @giftgriaud questioned: “Yet their names nor dey appear for Forbes richest African men list.”

And @lakunle_ remarked: “This is a redundant response. He already said over 500. Whether or not he is, the estimate still sums it all.”

Whether Wale’s statement was a proud brother’s exaggeration or a reflection of Davido’s actual financial standing, one thing is certain; the Adeleke brothers never shy away from celebrating each other publicly.

And in the world of Afrobeats, that kind of loyalty is worth more than money itself.
