Nollywood actress and influencer Nkechi Blessing Sunday has once again set social media buzzing after dropping her new iPhone 17 Pro Max reportedly worth ₦3 million into a bowl of water to prove it’s original.
The actress joined the trending “Apple Challenge” started by media personality Daddy Freeze, where iPhone users dip their Apple gadgets in water to prove their devices aren’t refurbished or fake “China upgrades.”
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Nkechi could be seen confidently tossing her iPhone into a bowl of water, declaring:
“I’m an Apple girl. As you can see, all my gadgets are Apple. If dem born una mama well, make una put una phone inside water like dis.”
According to her, she decided to take the challenge to silence critics who claimed she bought a fake or upgraded version of the iPhone 17.
“I won’t let those who bought theirs for ₦450k, ₦250k, or even ₦50k disrespect me. Where I buy my gadgets, dem no dey sell China products. Dem no dey change XR to iPhone 17”, she bragged.
After pulling her phone out of the water, Nkechi showed that it was still functioning perfectly, ending her clip with a bold statement:
“As I said, shoes get size, respect yourself.”
The dramatic display quickly stirred mixed reactions online.
A fan @dflowergirlje joked: “See as iPhone 17 users dey explain too much 😂” While @unkulray teased: “I thought we agreed that upcoming adults should have sense?”
And @_symply__promise wrote: “Seeking validation from people to feel alright.”
@iamade01 said: “Phone na big achievement for my country. It’s crazy 😂” while @typicalaramide commented: “She no go talk ke. Busy body.”
While some fans found her confidence amusing, others accused her of “doing too much” to prove a point.
