DJ Cuppy Presents Her Father's 'Making it Big' Book to the Man Who Gave Her First Ever DJ Job on TV

Nigerian celebrity disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has revealed that popular American media personality Charlamagne Tha God gave her the first ever DJ job on television.

Cuppy made this known in a recent post on LinkedIn, after she had dinner with the famed broadcaster in New York City.

According to the billionaire heiress, the reunion was more than just a friendly catch-up; it was a full-circle moment, as she also used the opportunity to present Charlamagne with her father Femi Otedola’s new book, Making It Big.

“Why do I think Charlamagne is important? He is just THAT guy. Being black, bold, and blessed in the US isn’t easy but he keeps showing up anyway,” Cuppy wrote.

“He’s one of the most influential voices in America and even through the storms and headlines, God’s light still shines on him.”

Cuppy recalled how the U.S. media icon had once opened doors for her when she was still making her way up in the industry.

“Years ago, he gave me my first ever DJ job on TV, so being able to hand him my dad’s book this time felt full circle,” she added.

She rounded off her post with a note of gratitude, describing Charlamagne as a “real one” and reflecting on how purpose sustains people beyond life’s pressures.

“Every time I’m in New York, I have to see my friend. Real ones like him remind me that purpose always outlives pressure”, she wrote.
