Nigerian music legend 2Face Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has dismissed viral reports claiming he was arrested in the UK following an alleged altercation with his wife, Natasha.
The singer had arrived in the UK on Thursday, October 2, for his much-anticipated UK tour.
However, rumours quickly spread online that he missed his first performance because he was picked up by the police after a heated exchange with Natasha, with some reports even alleging that bottles flew during the altercation.
2Baba, who recently turned 50, has now broken his silence. In a swift response, he described the claims as false and clarified that his absence on stage was due to health concerns.
According to him, “I failed to show up for my scheduled performance because I had a medical emergency, not because of any arrest or altercation.”
Despite his denial, the news has stirred reactions from fans online.
One fan, @compass9ja, wrote: “2baba making legendary moves.” Another, @eveiyke, added: “Nothing wey Nigeria no g believe. Annie has moved on. Tuface is in UK for a show. I wish him success.” @iamzuph chipped in with humour: “God of Annie😂.”
While @leesteff_skincare criticized the rumour mills, saying: “See as people dey get sleepless night for another person. Lol😂 You guys wish for this marriage won’t come through, rada rada.”
Others, like @lavivi_001, predicted more gossip ahead: “😂He must continue to debunk many more rumours, he never start.”
And @napysure concluded: “The show has attention now😂 If it’s not selling tickets before, it will sell now.”
For now, the award-winning star insists the only truth is his health, not handcuffs.
