Mavin Records boss and celebrated music producer, Don Jazzy, has opened up about his personal life, revealing how he never imagined crossing 40 without being married.
Speaking on the Echo Podcast, the 42-year-old hitmaker admitted that while building his career and nurturing talents like Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Ayra Starr, marriage slipped through the cracks.
“I never thought I would be 40-something and not be married. Maybe that’s the one I lost. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, I’m totally fine”, Don Jazzy said.
Despite the trade-off, he emphasized that he feels fulfilled with his accomplishments in the music industry.
Reflecting on alternative paths, he noted that even if he wasn’t a music executive, he would likely still be in the entertainment space, possibly as an influencer.
The revelation sparked mixed reactions from fans on social media.
One fan, @jacyntambachu, teased: “Single but not searching😂 Enjoyment wan wound am.” Another, @ziggieimoh, asked: “Is 40 the cap for marriage?”
Sharing a deeper perspective, @qweci_loner wrote: “It’s hard to find true love when you have everything, reason why it’s important to find your soulmate in trying times. Life is a journey so find someone who understands your vision as a man.”
Meanwhile, @leeeymarrrrh joked: “Don Jazzy wia still dey enjoy Lagos girls… e no want settle down at all.” And @adamawa_sweetheart asked: “But why? The dating app ain’t working?”

Whether or not marriage comes, fans agree on one thing; his impact on Afrobeats is already legendary.
