Nigerian Afrobeat superstar, Davido, has once again proven why fans love him; for his humour and his larger-than-life presence.
The singer, via his Instagram story, shared a DM he received from a fan who made a rather unusual request.
The fan asked Davido to fly on commercial planes for an entire month during his Nigeria tour, claiming it would “humble” other artists.
The message read:
“David, please can you do a protest on behalf of us that book artists for gigs and on behalf of people who fly commercial planes in general. Just one month of you flying commercial flights for this, your 9ja tour. It will trend and humble every fucking other artist because na you cause all this wahala. So you just reverse am.”
Davido, clearly amused by the suggestion, responded with nothing but a stream of laughing emojis, letting his fans know exactly how he felt about the weird idea.
This comes barely a week after the singer clapped back at an X user who claimed no one in the industry rates him. .
Davido swiftly reminded the critic that he is the one who gives the industry life.
The Unavailable hitmaker has also been vocal recently about hard work and success.
In July, he told his fans that the only way to do great work is to love what one does, insisting that miracles only happen to those who work tirelessly.
In a separate interview, Davido bragged about his wealth, admitting he has “billions of dollars waiting” if he ever decided to stop working, but said the odds stacked against him keep him going.
Fans have since reacted to his latest Instagram post with mixed takes.
While @pranhottiee praised him, saying, “If no be Davido, we go dey see celebrities as god 😂 Thank God he’s even bigger than Wizkid and co.”
Another user, @mitchy.finer, joked, “Them go use beg and billing finish am for commercial.”
On a lighter note, @naylowcute teased, “So that Airpeace will cancel his flight? Or Ibom Air conductress will tear his jacket 😂 abeg oh.”
For @adeol4984, Davido’s playful side remains unmatched, as he commented, “Normally na Davido dey make social media sweet, no sad moment with Davido at all.”
But not everyone agreed with the fan’s request, with @eshiet_akan dismissing it as unnecessary: “Which kind example be that…? Him tell you say money no dey? Some advice ehn, na poverty generated thoughts.”
As usual, Davido didn’t have to say much, a few emojis were enough to get the internet buzzing.
