Kizz Daniel’s Brother, Anidugbe Uthman, has denied claims that the singer’s account was frozen following a court order demanding €200,000 over a canceled show.
Uthman, who is also the brain behind Nigeria’s streetwear brand On My Grind, addressed the allegations in a strongly worded statement shared via his official Instagram account, @Uthy_omg.
He wrote:
“I will advice you take this down as information on here is incorrect and just an Avenue to sabotage the brand name Kizz Daniel. Nothing of such happened, this is fake news. He booked Kizz Daniel for an event in 2022 and gave a date and cancelled the show himself without prior notice or anything and still we went ahead to consider saying he can reschedule which he never did.
You paid a deposit and according to contract deposits are non refundable. You used the brand name to market the shows and take money from the people. He’s the fraud here. He did same thing to Teni, Diamond Platnumz, Boyspyce. You are a failure whoever you are.”
According to Uthman, the $50,000 deposit made by the show promoter remains non-refundable, stressing that the accuser canceled the event but still exploited Kizz Daniel’s name to sell tickets without issuing refunds to fans.
The heated revelation has triggered mixed reactions online.
Fan @smokeworldhq related the matter to personal experience, saying:
“Same thing a customer did with us in February, he deposited 300k for goods worth 1M plus. He went mute till July and came back for refund. Who does that?”
Another fan, @louewiep, countered: “If the court say it’s refundable, you must refund am.” While @jman53y joked: “50k USD non refundable, omo una dey enjoy o.”
And @tomiwa_tommy_tee gave a deeper perspective: “Oh if I can get it right… he was trying to say the host already sold out tickets to fans with the brand name Kizz Daniel and later canceled the show and trying to claim back the initial deposit after he has already made more than the 50k USD from fans without refunds… Omo I can relate well. Naso dem go put 9ice pic on poster that year wey all of us don go buy tables at the end of the day na local Fuji artist showed up as guest artist but the security was massive lol… For music business, we keep learning everyday.”
This clash sheds light on the tricky nature of music contracts and event deals.
