“Fuck Contracts, Fuck Labels” – Omah Lay Cries Out

Chart-topping Nigerian singer Omah Lay has cried out for help, saying he is losing his mind again.

In a post on his Snapchat, the award-winning artist poured out his heart to God, while lashing at the music business.

He wrote:
“Fuck contracts, Fuck labels, Fuck the music business, Fuck my younger self… Fuck everything. God, please help me, I’m losing my mind again.”

The post quickly stirred mixed reactions online.

While many fans expressed concern, others believe it signals fresh music is on the way.

@benh_adams wrote: “New song coming.” @sandy_coco added: “Omo, we are getting a mad album soon, he is depressed again.” @princess_starrr reacted: “Now I know money isn’t everything, cos why is he always depressed?”

@rosemary_isong said: “Your depression na our happiness. No vex, na you cause am, just drop the album for us. Sorry sir.” @lifedramar commented: “It’s about time we get the best of him. Get well soon.”

This isn’t the first time Omah Lay has spoken about his struggles. In January 2024, he took to Twitter to pray for more money.

Last year, he revealed in an interview that a fellow artiste once stole his idea and made an album from it, forcing him to recreate his project.

Known for hits like Soso and his melancholic sound, Omah Lay has often been described as the pioneer of “Afro-depression” – a style that blends Afrobeats with raw emotions.

Fans believe his struggles, though painful, give birth to some of his best music.
