Industry Drama: Fake Portable Goes Viral, Fans React
An artist who bears a striking resemblance to controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has gone viral after performing the hit song “Zazuu Zeh“ at a party.
In the now-trending video, the Portable look-alike storms the stage with wild energy, imitating Portable’s voice, movement, and signature street style.
As he delivered the track, originally performed by Portable featuring Olamide & Poco Lee, the crowd went wild, and so did the internet.
However, not everyone was amused.
Social media users flooded the comments with mixed reactions, ranging from praise to serious warnings about impersonation.
Instagram user @djopdot_iloveyou wrote, “If you don see original Portable run oooo. E get why.” Another user, @officialsimple15 joked, “This one don buy market 😂.”
Some warned the look-alike of possible legal drama.
“He dey risk im life”, @manova_madeit said, while @talk_with_jeremy added, “Portable fit sue am oooo. His jail go longggg.”
The resemblance was too close for comfort, according to @realalibis_adeyemi who said, “Resemblance na water.” And @shakar_el joked, “If Portable catch am ehh, e go first use ogun for am.”
Others couldn’t help but laugh. @tomzzz.y wrote,
“I believe we all know Portable is setting ring light ehh??” and @ridwannsalam hilariously concluded, “Nothing wey no get fake and original for this country.”
The identity of the impersonator remains unknown, but the buzz he generated online has caught the attention of fans and critics alike.
In a country where imitation is sometimes the highest form of praise, or the quickest path to trouble; this Portable look-alike may soon find out which one he’s earned.
