“OS na financial mistake, Girlfriend na financial mistake, Stay celibate.”
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the singer wrote:
“The biggest financial mistake, when u and ur papa nor dey the Top 10 list of richest people in Africa, u go cry bro.” — suggesting that marriage or serious relationships could derail financial growth if one hasn’t built enough wealth.
The comment was in response to @Garnador’s tweet that read, “Just get married then”, to which Shallipopi’s reply came as a warning, sparking mixed reactions across social media.
While some took his advice in stride, many saw it as a veiled attack on modern relationships. The reactions were swift and layered.
One fan, @iamjasonmore, noted, “Men are realizing that this generation of girls are about money”, echoing the growing sentiment among young men wary of financially draining relationships.
