Lil Kesh Assault: Suspects Arrested in Kano

Popular Nigerian singer Lil Kesh has survived a violent robbery and attempted murder, as two suspects linked to the attack have now been arrested by the Kano State Police Command.

The suspects, 25-year-old Matthew Adewole and his accomplice Mukhtar Muhammad, were captured in Unguwu Ukwu, Kano.

They have since been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.

According to police spokesperson Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Adewole confessed to attacking Lil Kesh on August 19, 2025, at the singer’s residence in Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos.

The assault left the artist with serious injuries, including a deep cut to the neck.

The suspects also reportedly forced Lil Kesh to transfer ₦2.12 million to an account belonging to Muhammad using his mobile phone.

Kiyawa noted that the arrest was made possible through credible intelligence and community support.

He also stated that the operation was in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to enhance intelligence-led policing nationwide.

The suspects are now in custody as investigations continue, with authorities vowing to bring all culprits to justice and prevent similar attacks on public figures.
