Nasty C Reveals Why He Quit Alcohol

South African star Nasty C has opened up about his battle with alcohol and why he finally walked away from it.
The ‘Send Me Away’ hitmaker said he used to drink every night: at concerts, at the studio, even meals.
He told interviewer the British-Nigerian media personality, Madame Joyce, “I was addicted to alcohol. I was drinking every night. Every time I go to the studio, restaurant, I drink. Every time I perform, I drink.”
He added that his tolerance for alcohol had grown high. Even with friends, he would be the last one to get drunk.
He confessed that kind of drinking worried him: “You never know when something is going wrong until it’s too late.”
Nasty C said he quit alcohol because he doesn’t want to look older than his age. There is a phrase in South Africa “phuza face” which means when someone’s skin and face show they drink too much, and the aging is visible. He said, “I gave up alcohol because I don’t want to get a ‘phuza face.’”
According to Nasty C, he’s now focused on music, health, and staying sharp.
Likewise, he wants his fans to know quitting alcohol was part of growing up and preserving his image.
