Rema: Force CID Breaks Silence on Assault Allegation
Afrobeats superstar Rema is being accused online of using Force CID officers to assault an interior decorator he hired.
The issue began with a contract signed on April 4, 2023, between Rema and Miss Amaka Obasi, owner of Ardeb Lifestyle Company.
The contract was for a project worth ₦386,000,000. Rema paid ₦287,000,000 up front, with the rest promised when the work was finished.
When inspectors visited, they saw that much of the work was not done. Furniture that was supposed to be delivered was missing.
They also found out that some of the money was moved to a different account, an account that was not properly linked to the company.
Miss Obasi was asked more than once to give a report from an independent valuer and to bring a legal representative. She did not comply. Today, she was arrested.
The Force CID has responded. They say there is no proof that Rema ordered any officers to assault the decorator.
They also warned the public not to believe everything they see online.
According to them, the police do not act for someone’s personal fight, they act according to the law.
