Naija Jollof To The World: Hilda Baci & Guinness Records

Nigerian chef and food sensation Hilda Baci has once again written her name in the Guinness World Records, this time for cooking the largest serving of Nigerian-style Jollof rice.
In an official announcement on Monday, GWR revealed that Hilda and her team whipped up a staggering 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) of Jollof rice, produced over nine hours of fire, passion and teamwork.
The record-breaking meal translated to about 16,600 plates, powered by 1,200 kilograms of gas and fueled by the spirit of community.
“The record was served with joy, love and community”, Hilda noted after the confirmation.
This latest feat places Baci firmly back in the global spotlight after her earlier cook-a-thon marathon broke the internet in 2023, sparking a new wave of culinary pride across Africa.
With this achievement, Hilda continues to project Nigerian cuisine to the world, cementing Jollof rice not just as a national treasure but a global cultural export.
