Tyla Clinches Best Afrobeats Award at 2025 MTV VMAs, Defeats Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tems & Rema

African music scored a major win at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) as South Africa’s Tyla emerged victorious in the Best Afrobeats category with her hit track “Push 2 Start.”

The young superstar faced off against a heavyweight lineup of Afrobeats icons and global hitmakers, including:
