Eniola Badmus, Laide Bakare ignite cold war at Owanbe Thieves premiere
The screening of Eniola Ajao’s much-anticipated film Owanbe Thieves on April 13, 2025, took a dramatic turn when a video surfaced showing actresses Eniola Badmus and Laide Bakare involved in a tense moment on the dance floor.
The Owanbe Thieves movie premiere, held at Filmhouse Circle Mall, Jakande, was a star-studded affair that attracted a host of celebrities, influencers and industry insiders.
As the crowd enjoyed a live performance by Fuji legend K1 De Ultimate, Eniola and Laide were seen dancing energetically with other attendees.
However, a video that surfaced on Monday showed Eniola visibly upset when she noticed Laide on the dance floor.
The actress quickly moved away to the back of the venue and continued dancing. The footage also captured Eniola lashing out as Laide approached her.
In Yoruba, Badmus was heard saying, “Don’t film us together, we’re not friends.”
This incident is just the latest chapter in a long-running tension between the two actresses. The discord dates back to a previous public dispute in which the Omo Ghetto star accused Laide of making insensitive comments about her personal life.
According to Eniola, the 44-year-old shamed her for not having children or a family, which led to a public fallout.
Laide later addressed the controversy, claiming that her remarks were not meant to offend but had been misinterpreted.
In March 2024, Eniola mocked Laide’s outfit at a book launch, which prompted a fiery response from the latter on Instagram, accusing Eniola of pointing out her flaws while ignoring her own shortcomings.
The two actresses also clashed over personal choices and political affiliations during the 2023 general election.
