Moving to Nigeria one of my best decisions- Tolanibaj

A former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Tolanibaj has described her relocation to Nigeria as “one of the best decisions” she ever made.

In a recent post on her X page, the reality star reflected on her decision to move back to Nigeria, revealing that it didn’t initially make sense to her.

Tolanibaj, who was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States, said she, however, took the risk because it “felt right”.

The reality star relocated to Nigeria in December 2018 to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Her move paid off after she participated in the BBNaija ‘Lockdown’ edition in 2020.

Although she didn’t win the reality TV show, Tolanibaj returned to the competition in 2023 for the ‘All Stars’ edition. Unfortunately, she was evicted in the fifth week.

Reflecting on her decision to relocate, Tolanibaj expressed her gratitude to God for the timing of her move.

She acknowledged that the past six years have been interesting and that she couldn’t be happier with her decision.

 “Honestly, one of the best choices I ever made in life was relocating to Nigeria. I’m grateful to God for the timing of my move,” she wrote.

“The thought of moving didn’t make complete sense to me at time but it just felt right & I took the risk. It’s been six interesting years and I couldn’t be happier.”

Tolanibaj’s post comes at a time when many Nigerians are leaving the country in search of better opportunities abroad.

The trend, popularly known as “japa,” has seen numerous professionals and young people emigrate to countries like Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
