Mr Ibu’s wife breaks down in tears as body leaves Lagos for Enugu

Stella Maris Okafor, late actor Mr Ibu’s widow, could not hold back her tears as his remains was brought from Lagos to his birthplace of Enugu for burial.

On Monday, a video was uploaded on Instagram of the actor’s kids Valentine and Daniel accompanying the body as it was wheeled by hospital staff.

In another video, Ibu’s wife is seen crying while others console her as the ambulance drives away.

Mr Ibu, real name John Okafor, died on Saturday at Evercare Hospital in Lagos State after a long fight with illness.

The 63-year-old battled health issues that led to multiple surgeries and the amputation of his leg.

According to the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas, Ibu’s manager Don Single Nwuzor told him that the actor suffered cardiac arrest before he passed on.

“Mr lbu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace,” he said in an Instagram post on Saturday.

Ibu hailed Umunekwu in Nkanu West LGA, Enugu State.
