Daddy Showkey, a legendary Nigerian singer, claims rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has a “history of beefing international artists.”

Showkey was weighing in on the controversy surrounding Eedris’ recent comments, specifically his 2004 altercation with 50 Cent, the US singer.

In a recent interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, Eedris discussed his confrontation with 50 Cent.

The ‘Jaga Jaga’ singer claimed that his action two decades ago was part of a “fight against unfair treatment of Nigerian artistes”.

Showkey responded to the claims during an Instagram live session with Daddy Freeze, saying 50 Cent was not the only international artist with whom his colleague had a dispute.

According to him, Eedris earlier had a confrontation with DMX, the late American rapper, during the All-African Games in 2003.

“In COJA, the year 2003, they brought DMX. The same thing Eedris did with 50 Cent is what he did with DMX at Transcorp Hotel,” he said.

“DMX was ready to confront him. I was among the people that pleaded with him”.

Freeze then interrupted him by asking if Eedris has a history of “beefing international artistes”. In his response, Showkey corroborated the interviewer’s question, saying “it is true”.

Eedris has been in the news in the past few days over his controversial commentaries.

He recently engaged in a war of words with Burna Boy and also claimed that Charly Boy is a man who lacks integrity.

Isaac Fayose, brother of Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti state, recently described Eedris as “one of the most useless artistes in Nigeria”.

Skiibii and Ice Prince also sarcastically mocked Eedris on Tuesday.
