The Nation’s Pillow Talk columnist Yetunde Oladeinde dies at 56
Yetunde Oladeinde, writer of The Nation Newspapers’ weekly column Pillow Talk, died at the age of 56.
Muyiwa Lucas, former chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) chapel, announced the news on Monday.
“NUJ The Nation Chapel…We mourn…Yetunde Oladehinde (Grandma) Weekend Desk @ The Nation…Rest in Peace,” he wrote.
Under her death, Oladeinde was in charge of the fashion and flair page; and lifestyle interview page for the weekend desk.
Mourning her, the news editor of The Nation Bunmi Ogunmodede said: “May the Lord grant her eternal rest. Such a quiet woman taken home! The Lord will keep her family.”
Also known as Grandma, Oladeinde previously worked at National Life Newspaper and The Sun Newspaper.
She bagged a bachelor’s degree in English and Literature from the University of Lagos in 1989, and earned a post-graduate diploma from Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ) in 2002.
Oladeinde was a member of organisations such as Business and Women Professional (BPW) Nigeria; Association of Nigerian Women Business Network; and Echoes of Women in Africa (ECOWA).
