Filmmaker Faith Ojo calls out Lizzy Anjorin’s husband over alleged land-grabbing
Faith Ojo, a filmmaker based in the United States, has called out Adegboyega Lateef Lawal, the husband of actress Lizzy Anjorin, for alleged land grabbing.
Recall that the Magistrate Court in Oyingbo Ebute-Metta, Lagos, ruled decisively in the case involving Lizzy’s husband and Alhaji Sulaimon of Okun-Ajah, Eti-Osa, Lagos State, among others.
Alhaji Sulaimon is accused of maliciously damaging properties worth 15 million naira, allegedly intended for an orphanage home and disabled children owned by Faith Ojo.
Despite the efforts of the Zone 2 Police to address the alleged criminal activities, the defendant and his co-conspirators managed to evade capture, while further police investigations are still ongoing.
Lawal purportedly escaped arrest in Ikoyi on February 5, 2024, while his associate was apprehended and sent to prison.
Speaking on the matter in an Instagram post on Monday, Faith Ojo identified herself as the owner of the land, adding that the ongoing case will serve as a “deterrent index to all others who seek to reap where they did not sow.”
She wrote: “Good day everyone. My attention has been drawn to the circulating news about Liz Anjorin’s husband, Alhaji Lateef LAWAL, who is accused alongside others for land grabbing in Lagos. Yes, I can confirm that the story is genuine and the land belongs to me. I purchased the said land 4 years ago and I planned to build an orphanage there for needy kids under my foundation.
“I won’t be able to say much for now as the matter is currently in Court. I have strong belief in Nigeria’s judiciary and I am confident that the right thing will be done. This case will deterrent index to all others who seek to reap where they did not sow. Land grabbing and all other associated shady dealings are evil. God bless you all. Faith Ojo.”
