My mum can’t speak English but I’m proud of her, Juliana Olayode slams critic
Actress Juliana Olayode has stated that she is proud of her mother, despite the latter’s inability to speak proper English.
Juliana revealed this in a recent Instagram video following a troll’s disparaging remarks about the actress’ mother.
The Jenifa’s Dairy star stated that an Instagram user mocked her mother for her inability to express herself in English after being asked to review Funke Akindele’s A Tribe Called Judah.
The troll claimed Juliana appeared to come from a wealthy family despite her mother’s inability to speak English, but Juliana refuted the claim, claiming she came from nothing.
The 28-year-old said: “It took everything in me not to respond, I can take anything else but don’t talk about my mum, don’t talk about my dad, don’t talk about my family. If you wanna drag me, drag me, if you wanna insult, insult me, if you wanna say anything to me, say it to me Juliana and not my mum, I was pissed off.”
Juliana also encouraged her followers to love their parents and not be ashamed of them.
“My mum can’t speak English but I LOVE her to LIFE!!! And I am VERY PROUD of her. No matter what, love your parents, be proud of them and celebrate them always,” she added.
Juliana came to the limelight after featuring as Toyo Baby in Funke Akindele’s hit series Jenfia’s Dairy.
