Super Eagles travel in style to Cote d’Ivoire for AFCON 2023
The Super Eagles of Nigeria left Nigeria on Wednesday for Cote d’Ivoire, where the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) would be held.
The team dressed in uniform before departing. Their outfit resembled Nigeria’s green and white hues.
Several players, including captain Ahmed Musa and vice William Troost-Ekong, posted images of their departure on social media.
Nigeria will play in Group A, where they will square up against Equatorial Guinea, host Cote d’Ivoire and also Guinea-Bissau.
The Super Eagles on Tuesday had a dinner with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The team arrived at the State House in Marina about 10pm.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ibrahim Gusau and his immediate predecessor, Amaju Pinnick, as well as former Nigeria international and Green Eagles captain Segun Odegbami and several other board members of the NFF were there.
Coach Jose Peseiro and other members of the technical team were also in attendance at the event.
