Fuel subsidy: Sanwo-Olu announces 50 per cent reduction on Lagos buses
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken measures to assist the residents of Lagos in dealing with the consequences of fuel subsidy removal. As part of his efforts, he has introduced palliatives to alleviate the impact.
Starting from Wednesday, there will be a significant 50% reduction in fares for Lagos buses, making public transportation more affordable for the people.
Additionally, Governor Sanwo-Olu has given his approval for a 25% reduction in fees for yellow buses. The official announcement of this reduction will be made by the respective union representing the yellow bus operators.
A tweet from the governor’s media aide, Jubril Gawat, read: “FLASH: Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu has announced Palliatives to cushion the effect of the Fuel subsidy removal: – 50% reduction on Lagos Buses from Wednesday.
“25% reduction in yellow buses fees which will be announced officially by their body.”
