Don’t go to OAU, Adekunle Gold advises colleagues after LASU incident
Adekunle Gold, a singer and composer, has warned his colleagues not to attend concerts at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Osun State.
Adekunle Gold stated this in a tweet on Friday night in response to the OAU’s appeal on Twitter for artists to host events at the university.
The university wrote: “Bring your Concerts to OAU, we love fun here. Just dobale, singer nice songs and it’s a party mate. #OAUTwitter.”
The invitation came after a rowdy session at a show organised by Poco Lee at Lagos State University (LASU). Rapper Odumodublvck and Bella Shmurda were present at the concert.
Adekunle Gold accused OAU of lying and recalled an event at the university in 2015 when he was allegedly humiliated at his hotel after performing his only song at the time ‘Sade’.
“Don’t listen to them! Fucking Liars. Poor what?! I had Just one song out then (SADE), those fuckers knew it! They booked me! I prostrated for the students (No wham). I hyped the crowd up, performed Acapella, sang the full song (SADE), entered the crowd, performed again, came back to the stage did the same thing again!” the singer fired back at OAU.
In another tweet, the 36-year-old said: “If you like go OAU go perform, anything wey your eyes see is on you.”
Poco Lee’s manager Falaye Adedoyin on Friday debunked reports of suspected cultists’ attack at the dancer’s homecoming party at LASU.
The university also debunked the allegations, saying the rowdiness was caused by lack of proper planning by the organisers.
