Why we invaded Seun Kuti’s house – Lagos Police

The Lagos State Police Command has disclosed the reason for its Tuesday raid on the home of famous artist Seun Kuti.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, claimed on Tuesday that police raided Seun Kuti’s home after discovering suspicious items.

ER had reported that Policemen on Tuesday carried out the search and reportedly seized Kuti’s wife’s mobile phone during the raid.

Seun Kuti was arrested for assaulting a police officer on Sunday.

Responding to a Nigerian who condemned the invasion, Hundeyin on Wednesday said the things stumbled upon needed to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

“In the course of our investigation, we stumbled on certain suspicious things that needed to be proven/disproved beyond a reasonable doubt.

“We, therefore, applied for and duly got a search warrant from the court, which we have executed. Investigation continues.” the PPRO added.
