Burna Boy, Tems, Rema to headline 2023 NBA All-Star Game

Nigerian singers are bringing the nation pride by putting Nigeria on the international music scene during the All-Star weekend.

On Wednesday, February 15th, the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced that three Nigerian super stars will headline the NBA All-Star Game 2023 Halftime Show.

The Afrobeats-focused halftime show will take place in Utah on Sunday, February 19th.

Jewel, Post Malone, and Vin Diesel are among the other artists scheduled to perform at the show.

Post Malone will perform a medley of his songs before Sunday’s game during the first arena-hosted All-Star Draft. Vin Diesel, who will star in Fast X, will host the event and announce the All-Star Game players.

This is no doubt a big feat for Burna Boy, Tems and Rema as the NBA All-Star, is one of the biggest basketball celebration of the season.

Burna Boy, Tems and Rema aren’t the first Nigerian musicians to headline a game event.

Last year, that award-winning music star Wizkid made history in Saudi Arabia.

The singer became the first African artiste to headline the World’s biggest gaming event, Gamers 8 eSports, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Also, Davido made history when he performed at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
