The 8th Edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) Gala took place on Sunday in Dakar, Senegal. Big names in the entertainment industry competed for the prestigious Award at the event.
Burna Boy, the Nigerian music star, proved once again that he is the ‘African Giant,’ as he was named the Best Act in Africa at the award ceremony.
The ‘Last Last’ crooner also took home the Best Album of Year award, beating out South African Kabza De Small and Didi B from Côte d’Ivoire, among others. Didi B, an Ivorian singer, took home the Song of the Year Award.
Other Nigerian singers that won awards on the night were Wizkid who walked away with Best Act in West Africa award.
Davido bagged the (Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music) for his his hit song, ‘Stand Strong’.
While Adekunle Gold won two awards: Best Act Group in African contemporary music and Best Act , Duo or Group in African Pop, featuring Davido.
