Ice Prince was released on bail from Ikoyi Correctional Facility after spending about six nights there.

According to Ice Prince’s lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida, he was released from the Nigerian prison in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Thursday.

Dalmeida reports that the ‘Oleku’ star was released on Thursday after the court certified that he had met the bail conditions. He stated:

“His bail conditions have been met, and he was released yesterday.”

The rapper’s trial was scheduled to begin on Wednesday at the Ajah magistrate court in Lagos.

However, the case was adjourned until October 24 after the prosecution counsel stated that his witnesses did not appear.

The 35-year-old is facing three counts of assault, obstructing a police officer from carrying out his or her statutory duties, and kidnapping.

The court had previously granted him bail in the amount of N500,000 with two sureties.

According to police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, the rapper was arrested for driving without licence plates.

Hundeyin claimed Ice Prince assaulted him and threatened to drive his car into the river.
