He had a second nomination in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category for albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental Global Music recordings.
However, the singer lost both nominations as Pakistani Arooj Aftab’s, “Mohabbat” won the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ award while Beninese Angelique Kidjo’s “Mother Nature” won in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category.
Since Sunday night after the awards ceremony took place, the singer had been quiet.
However he took to his Instagram story to congratulate Kidjo and South African Disc Jockey Blackcofee who did Africa proud.
He wrote: “Love to my brother a true king @realblackcoffe and Queen @angeliquekidjo for the wins and for consistently shining light to the continent. African music rising”.
