International Nigerian singer and songwriter, Bukola Elemide a.k.a Asa has said that she will be lost without Lagos.

The ‘Femi mo’ crooner made this known in an interview with journalist, Joey Akan.

Recounting her experience recording her new album ‘V’, in Lagos she said: “I stayed 100 percent in Lagos and recorded the album 100 percent from home. Unlike my other albums where I was 80 percent in Lagos and would continue wherever I found myself. Lagos is everything. I cannot imagine a time in my life where I would lose Lagos. Lagos has been the center of my inspirations, of my stories that I write about in my songs. Lagos is home.  Lagos is the core. Where I go, if I am not in Lagos, I take Lagos with me. Without Lagos which in this context is home, I will be lost”.

The songstress also said she doesn’t like going back to how she sounded when she was started out releasing albums .Asa added that she doesn’t want to stay in her comfort zone.

“I have always been who I am, I cannot change it.Even the listener will know. A lot of people when they think of Asa always think we should come with jazz or we should come with something ethereal or something like ‘Eye Adaba’.I don’t like going back there. I want something challenging, I want something that will take me out of my comfort zone. When I am composing I try to stay away from something I have done, or something that sounds like what I have done. There is more to Asa”.
