Yoruba Nollywood star Tayo Odueke, better known as Sikiratu Sindodo, has shut down talk of a quarrel with veteran actress Faithia Williams after a clipped video from an event began circulating online.

Speaking on Oyinmomo Tv podcast, Sikiratu said the footage was incomplete and that the story attached to it was false. She called Williams her sister and insisted they remain close.

“Myself and Aunty Faithia are in good spirits. She’s my sister and we are very close. I was surprised to see that video and the narration going around the internet. In fact, we sat down together at the event and even danced together,” she said.

According to her, Williams was dancing when she accidentally knocked her gele. Sikiratu looked up, recognised her colleague, and let it go.

“The clip making rounds wasn’t complete because she was dancing and maybe mistakenly hit my head tie, which I looked up to see who it was and I realised she was the one, so I moved on. There’s no issues between us.”

In the same conversation she looked back at the role that made her a household name. She said she almost lost the part because she could not lock the character on her first try, and people on set questioned why the producer handed such a scene to a newcomer.

“When I started acting the character on set, I didn’t get it right. So, some people on the set started saying all sorts of things, like why would the producer insist on giving me such a scene as a newbie. But my boss, Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, encouraged me and I went to relax and then prayed. By the time I returned to the set, I played the character perfectly,” she recalled.

That performance became the Sikiratu Sindodo identity she still carries. Williams, often billed as Faithia Balogun, is one of the most recognised faces in Yoruba cinema. The two have shared industry spaces for years, which is why a few seconds of video was enough to spark feud talk.
