Media personality Tunde Perry has left many Nigerians stunned after revealing his wife permits him one “free day” every month to go out, relax, and enjoy himself with other women as a way to prevent him from taking a second wife.
During a recent TikTok Live session, Tunde Perry openly discussed the unusual arrangement in his 10-year marriage, saying his wife allows him to choose a date at the beginning of each month during which she does not disturb or check up on him.
“My wife gives me one free day in a month to go out and chill. We’ve been married for about 10 years, so we understand ourselves. I choose the date from the beginning of the month.”
He added that upon returning home, he is expected to compensate by handling household chores, jokingly noting that his wife temporarily confiscates his phones and puts him to work.
According to Tunde Perry, the arrangement has helped strengthen their marriage and removed any desire for polygamy.
“You must have that kind of understanding so you can enjoy your relationship. It’s not good to have two or three wives.”
When the host playfully asked what would happen if one of his outings led to another relationship, Tunde Perry dismissed the idea, insisting he had no intention of breaking the rules. Replying humorously, he said:
“How will I go out next month to enjoy again?”
