Nigerian singer Crayon has stunned fans with fresh revelations about his early days in the music industry, disclosing that superstar Tiwa Savage was once his crush and that she personally introduced him to the drug mixture known as Backy. The singer, whose real name is Charles Chibueze Chukwu, made the admission during a candid interview with popular streamer Caterefe.

Crayon, who was previously signed to Mavin Records where Tiwa Savage served as a key figure, did not hold back as he reflected on the 2018 encounter. He described the moment clearly, saying:

“Tiwa Savage was my crush in 2018, she gave me my first Backy. She asked me if I smoked. I said yes mama I smoke, and she handed it to me. Since then, I started smoking Backy.”

The disclosure has already sparked intense reactions across social media, with many fans expressing surprise at the personal nature of the relationship between the two artists at that time.

Crayon’s comments paint a picture of an impressionable young talent navigating the fast-paced Afrobeats scene, where he looked up to Savage both professionally and personally.

At the time of the alleged introduction, Crayon was still building his career under the Mavin umbrella. Tiwa Savage, already an established force in the industry, had been a mentor figure to several rising acts on the label.

Crayon has since moved on from Mavin and continues to carve his own path under his own label. Known for his smooth vocals and relatable storytelling in tracks that blend Afrobeats with R&B influences, he has maintained a relatively low-key approach to personal matters until this interview.
