Nigerian star Juliana Olayode—beloved for her breakout role as Toyosi (Toyo baby) in Jenifa’s Diary—has stepped in with a sincere plea in recent post. She urged folks to pump the brakes on the “Holy Spirit carry me” trend, inspired by Moses Bliss’s uplifting track. What started as playful videos blending faith and fun has spiraled into captions that poke fun at weight and looks, like “Holy Spirit no carry me because my nyash big” according to her.

Olayode, posting from her verified Instagram account @olayodejuliana earlier today, emphasized respect without disrespecting the Holy Spirit. “I know it’s just fun and vibe,” she wrote in a series of stories, “but I’m starting to feel uncomfortable with some captions.”

She reminded fans that invoking the Holy Spirit in prayer is powerful and beautiful, but turning it into jokes risks dishonoring something sacred. “Everything can not always be fun and vibes especially NOT the HOLYSPIRIT,” she added, calling for honor and reverence.
