Nigerian rapper Erhiga Agarivbie, popularly known as Erigga, has shared why quitting music is never an option for him, stressing that his love for the craft goes beyond money or fame.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, the Warri-born rapper spoke about the struggles and realities of the music industry, noting that every year, some artists walk away due to life challenges and pressure.
“Every year, people leave music for real-life issues. But I can’t stop. Music is life. It’s what keeps me going”, he said.
Erigga, known for his raw street wisdom and relatable lyrics, made it clear that for him, music isn’t just a profession; it’s a lifeline.
“Take the business and everything out of it, it’s more of a passion. I can’t disappoint my fans”, he added, reaffirming his deep connection to his art and audience.
Over the years, Erigga has carved a niche for himself as one of Nigeria’s most authentic storytellers in rap, using his music to mirror the everyday struggles and triumphs of the average Nigerian youth.
His statement comes at a time when several artists have either switched careers or gone silent in the fast-changing Nigerian music scene. But for Erigga, the fire still burns.
With a career spanning over a decade and hits like Motivation, Welcome to Warri, and Glory (The Genesis), the rapper’s consistency continues to earn him respect among fans and industry mates.
For Erigga, quitting is simply not an option, not when music remains the heartbeat that keeps him going.
