“You’ll Get Beaten!” — Seyi Vibez Threatens Blaqbonez

Rapper Blaqbonez set off a sharp exchange on X when he told Lagos area boys he was not Seyi Vibez. The post triggered a string of replies from the street-pop star that dragged in Odumodublvck, threats of a beating, and a claim that rap is already dead.

Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, wrote:

“lagos agbero people please i am not seyi vibez dammit.”

The line referred to the long-standing observation that the two artists resemble each other. In 2023 they met in a hotel lobby, laughed about the resemblance, and Blaqbonez later called them the two most handsome men in Nigeria. Fans noted that agberos in Lagos have been calling the rapper by Seyi Vibez’s name for some time.

Seyi Vibez, born Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, answered within minutes.

“I wanted to curse you before, Blaqbonez, but I will not give you free promo, Aladanu,” he posted.

He followed with “Agidi for lagos can put you in trouble. Muyeez is more popular than you are,” a reference to the young artist who features on his 2024 track “Instagram,” and is linked to Seyi’s Vibez Inc circle.

The sharpest line landed next.

“Blaqbones your daddy is still Odumodu if you like go up and down,” Seyi wrote.

Odumodublvck (Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu) and Blaqbonez have been locked in one of Nigerian hip-hop’s messiest public feuds since late 2024. What began as competitive banter escalated into diss tracks, personal accusations involving a woman both men knew, sexual abuse claims that Blaqbonez has denied, and legal action, including a multi-billion-naira claim.

Seyi continued the barrage.

“No worry just move anyhow.”

Then:

“Rap is dead already. Ah, please, leave me. I am not in your set, aboy. Madman, carry that rubbish clout and go some where else, unfortunate being.”

He added a physical threat:

“The fool wants to align himself with me. You will get beaten there, aboy.”

Later he joked, “Or should I sign blaqbones.”

Blaqbonez’s only public reply was light. Quoting one of the posts, he wrote:

“Is this guy being serious right now?”

Toward the end of the exchange Seyi addressed his fans more calmly.

“You guys shouldn’t be angry with me for speaking anyhow, my fans. Not every time someone fools. Lagos is a place full of good people, not agbero. So far you listen to my music, you’ll never lack. AMEN.”

He closed with “GOD will not allow me resemble you.”

The two have never been close collaborators, and the resemblance has been a recurring online joke rather than a source of public tension until Sunday.
