“Stop Using Toluwanisings’ Death for Clicks!” — Woli Arole

Gospel minister and content creator Woli Arole has delivered a fiery message calling on Nigerians to stop turning the death of late singer Toluwanisings into content for likes and views. In a recent Instagram reel, the preacher said God sent him to speak on behalf of the departed gospel artiste and to urge the public to focus on a befitting burial and support for the young widow and children instead of unnecessary noise.

Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, passed away in the early hours of October 14, 2026, after collapsing at his home in Ibadan. He had ministered the previous night at a worship event. His family confirmed the death and described him as a dearly loved husband, father and gospel minister. Reports from his personal assistant claimed he was taken to several hospitals without receiving timely treatment, though those claims remain unverified. The singer left behind a wife and two young children.

In the weeks since, public attention has shifted from mourning to heated debates over burial arrangements between the widow and the late singer’s paternal family, as well as unfounded allegations that have prompted legal threats from some entertainers. Woli Arole addressed this atmosphere of speculation and exploitation directly in his video.

“Proverbs 31 verse 8 says that ‘speak on behalf of the speechless.’ I’m doing this video because I’ve been sent to do it,” he began.

He declared that the Almighty God, the creator of heaven and earth, had led him as a prophet anointed from his mother’s womb.

“The Bible also says not to be silent in the face of evil and I want to speak on behalf of Toluwanisings’ demise and tell you all what the lord asked me to say.”

Woli Arole first acknowledged the depth of the loss.

“We’ve lost a great guy. A great gift to the generation. Even we his colleagues haven’t recovered. He’s so close to some of us. It’s a really painful experience. A great elephant has gone.”

He then turned sharply on those using the tragedy for personal gain.

“It’s saddening that a lot of people are now using it as a means to get social media traction. You’re mad! I have the right to say it. A young man has died at almost his prime. The discussion is not even about the wife left or his two kids, no, what you want to start doing is unlicensed, ungoverned, unnecessary talk, interviews, and nonsense. A lot of people speaking about him this way did not ever speak about him or his music when he was alive.”

Quoting scripture again, he urged restraint.

“The Bible says ‘let the dead bury their dead.’ Let that man be given a befitting burial. Nobody can ruin his legacy. He lived a good life. He sang songs that are eternal—he sang songs that ring in my heart. However, whichever way he’s buried, he’ll always be in our heart. His sound is forever.”

The preacher appealed for focus on the living.

“I want to beg you guys in the name of Jesus, let us focus on what is left. How his legacy will be preserved in his children and his wife. Do you know what it means to be a young widow? I lost my dad two days ago, and my mother in her old age has not recovered. Please, not for clicks, not for likes, not for views, and that is the word of the Lord. Let everything be done quickly in the name of Jesus.”

He closed by declaring that nothing could stop a proper burial and by blessing the family.

“Permit me to also say this, and I speak by the spirit of god: There’s nothing on earth or in heaven that can stop whatever burial they want to give. To my friends in the music industry, fear not. God is with us. We’re the fearless children of God. We stand in the name of the Lord. The Lord sent me. If you have an issue with this video, it’s not me you have an issue with, but you have an issue with the Almighty God. God bless you, Toluwanisings’ legacy, his widow, his children, and his family. Let the noise and unnecessary nonsense die down, in the name of Jesus.”
