Nollywood actress Bolaji Ogunmola has drawn a firm line around her private life, telling The Morayo Show she would rather stay quiet about any partner than drag him into a spotlight he never asked for.
In the interview with Morayo Afolabi-Brown, Ogunmola said she is in a good place but has no interest in proving it to the public.
“I’m happy but for me it’s important that my partner or future partner didn’t ask for this life so I feel it’s unfair for me to drag him into it. What people don’t know, they can’t hurt, so I rather just say I’m happy, I’m blessed, God is good.”
That same interview also turned to the bullying and dragging she has faced as a public figure. Asked how she handles the negativity when it keeps coming, Ogunmola admitted she used to take it harder than she does now.
“I mean I’m very soft and things used to get to me a lot like, this is not the intention o, but I’ve come to realize it gets worse if you continue to explain. I’m learning that people will always talk. I always say you can’t be right in front of people that want you to be wrong. If they have a mindset about you, it’s never going to change. You just have to focus on what you’re doing and hopefully, some people will understand.”
She has been here before, in smaller ways. In 2021 she publicly lamented ending the year without a relationship. In February 2025 she joked online that nobody had asked her to be their Valentine. More recently, in May 2026, she shut down romance rumours with co-star Daniel Etim Effiong, saying they only kiss in movies, are not close off set, and that his wife understands the job.
