“I Miss Having a Wife!” — Kunle Omisore Opens Up on Divorce Loneliness

Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Kunle Omisore has opened up about the quiet pain of life after divorce, revealing that he still misses the companionship of a wife even with women in his life.

In a candid interview on African A-List, the actor popularly known as Mr Samson shared how loneliness hits him at home despite having female company.

“You’ll feel lonely in the house; it’s not like you don’t have a woman who can satisfy you, but that is different from having a wife,” he said.

Omisore explained the emotional void that remains after his marriage ended.

“There are times when you know that when you’re troubled, someone would calm you down. Instead, I will get home, I will park outside for a while, and wind down, so those children wouldn’t know something is wrong with me.”

He described the lasting impact of divorce.

“It’s difficult; it’s only God who can heal a divorcee. I am not holding on to the hurt; it’s just going to be a part of you. You cannot live out of it.”

Despite the separation, the father insisted the union was not a failure.

“I didn’t suffer a failed marriage because glorious children came from it.”

Looking ahead, he shared plans to relocate to Europe within the next ten years for a quieter life focused on raising his children in the way of the Lord.

In the same interview, Omisore spoke warmly about his professional and personal bond with actress Mide Martins. He revealed he does not charge her for roles because of their close relationship.

“I recently worked with Mide Martins on a job titled IYA, and it’s everywhere right now. Mide won’t call me for a job and I’ll start asking for money, because we have a relationship. I have relationships with her, and her family, her husband. … When I ask her for a story, she’ll say, ‘You’re my screen husband, we have two children together.’ I’ve been doing lead roles for 3 to 4 years now without even asking for money.”

The actor also shared a strong opinion on spiritual matters and personal conduct.

“Witches exist. Prayers don’t kill witches, it will only call their attentions to you. You are sleeping with someone’s partner and then you’re praying to God to protect you from witches, that is when they will now have your time,” he stated.

The veteran actor’s honesty has sparked wide conversations among fans. Many have related to the quiet struggles of single parenthood and the search for genuine companionship after a marriage ends.
