Music executive Soso Soberekon has broken his silence following the public outcry over Davido’s absence at his star-studded wedding, urging fans to ignore the negativity and focus on the love that filled the day.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared after his July 25, 2026, wedding to Princess Ebiere in Warri, Delta State, Soso expressed deep gratitude while seemingly addressing the growing conversations around who was missing from the guest list.
“My heart is overflowing with gratitude. Thank you to everyone who celebrated, prayed, supported and shared in the joy of our wedding. The love my wife and I received was beyond anything we ever imagined. One thing is certain: LOVE WON. Please ignore every negativity as we embrace love here. Our wedding was beautiful, peaceful and filled with genuine happiness. Finally, let me say this clearly: No one speaks for me. I speak for myself. Thank you all for making our day unforgettable. We love you all.”
The ceremony drew a long list of celebrities including E-Money, KCee, Teni, Mercy Eke, Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, 2baba, Zlatan, Peller, Iyabo Ojo, Priscilla Ojo and many others. Davido, long considered a close friend and business associate of Soso, was noticeably absent and did not publicly congratulate the couple.
The absence triggered sharp criticism. Former media aide Ossai Ovie Success described Davido as ungrateful, arguing that Soso had done a great deal for the singer over the years by promoting him both locally and internationally.
“Soso showed up for Davido; Davido didn’t show up for Soso. That’s not loyalty. That’s not gratitude,” he wrote, calling the absence a slap in the face.
Comedian Deeone went further, labelling Davido a “terrible human being” and claiming the singer is jealous of Soso’s wealth. He accused Davido of only wanting success for colleagues as long as they do not surpass him.

Despite the online noise, Soso chose to celebrate the positive energy surrounding his special day rather than engage the critics. His message of love winning and speaking for himself has drawn mixed reactions, with some praising his maturity while others continue to debate the meaning of loyalty in the industry.
The newlyweds had earlier held their traditional wedding on July 22 before the grand celebration three days later, marking the end of a long wait that Soso previously described as God’s perfect timing.
