Controversial TikTok personality and disc jockey Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has regained his freedom after meeting stringent bail conditions following weeks in detention.
His lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, confirmed the joyous development in an Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, simply writing, “All glory to God. DJ Chicken.”
Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore also announced the release on X, stating:
“DJ Chicken (real name Ademola Abiodun) is free and reunited with his family, friends, and loved ones.”
Sowore added a powerful message:
“No one should suffer oppression while the rest of us watch in silence, especially at the hands of powerful and corrupt forces. An injury to one is an injury to all. We will continue to stand up for the weak and fight against injustice wherever it occurs.”
A livestream shared shortly after his release captured DJ Chicken smiling inside a vehicle as he interacted warmly with followers, with his lawyer visibly present beside him.
The content creator’s ordeal began after a viral video in which he made remarks about President Bola Tinubu not winning re-election in 2027 and allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son.

He was arrested and arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Ogba, Lagos, on a three-count charge including violations of the Cybercrimes Act, breach of peace, and threats to kill.
DJ Chicken was remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre after pleading not guilty. The court granted him ₦1 million bail with two sureties in like sum, imposing tough conditions such as one surety being a civil servant, another a community leader with landed property in Lagos, tax clearances, utility bills, NIN, and Lagos State residents registration details, with one surety required to be a blood relative.
He later retracted the statement, describing it as a joke meant to boost his popularity, but the arrest proceeded amid public backlash. The case has been adjourned to August 3, 2026.His release has sparked widespread celebrations online, with many hailing it as a victory against perceived oppression while others await the full trial outcome.
