Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has melted hearts worldwide as she publicly welcomed her first child, a baby boy, in an emotional birthday announcement that marks her first celebration as a proud mother.
The actress, who married tech entrepreneur Abasi Ene-Obong in 2022, chose her birthday to share the joyful news after keeping her newborn away from the public eye for several weeks. Instead of her usual glamorous birthday photoshoot, Ini shared a raw and touching hospital photo from the day her son was born, describing it as the moment her life changed forever. She wrote:
“Every year, my birthday comes with a photoshoot, glam, and a carefully planned concept. This year, none of that felt quite right. Instead, I’m sharing a photo from the day my son was born. The day my life changed forever.”
Ini continued with deep emotion:
“Because as special as every birthday has been, this one feels different. This year, I celebrate as a mother.”
The proud new mum described motherhood as the most humbling, challenging, and rewarding role she has ever taken on.
“There is no role I have ever played that has humbled me, stretched me, challenged me, or filled my heart quite like this one. These past weeks have been some of the most beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting, and rewarding of my life.”
She praised her newborn son as “the cutest boy with the sweetest dimples” and admitted she had underestimated the demands of the newborn phase.
“The newborn phase is no joke, and I definitely didn’t fully understand what was waiting for me. But even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.”
