Ruth Kadiri Reveals She Never Wanted Marriage: “I Knew I Was a Catch”

Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has opened up about her unexpected journey to marriage, revealing she never felt any pressure to settle down and never daydreamed about walking down the aisle.

In a candid interview with Ifedayo Agoro, the talented movie star disclosed that marriage was never a priority in her life until she met her husband.

“I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to marry. I knew I was a catch and anyone that was going to marry me was going to be lucky.”

The actress explained that she met her husband at work when he approached her to start a conversation. Although she was not initially interested, they ended up discussing business, importation, and Vietnam. She recalled a divine moment just as she was about to leave:

“As I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me he’s my husband.”

True to her independent nature, Ruth blocked him two days later. However, her now-husband went the extra mile to find her again. Months later, he proposed and she accepted.

Her story challenges the common narrative that every woman grows up dreaming of marriage. Ruth’s experience shows how focusing on personal growth and career can lead to love finding its way naturally, without societal pressure.

The actress and producer’s refreshing honesty has resonated with many women who feel pressured by society and family expectations to marry by a certain age. Her testimony highlights the importance of being secure in oneself and allowing divine timing in matters of the heart.
