“Tinubu, Where Is the Peace You Promised Us?” — Adeniyi Johnson

Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has added his voice to the growing list of celebrities lamenting the worsening insecurity across Nigeria, questioning how the country descended into a state where citizens can no longer sleep with their eyes closed.

In an emotional Instagram post, the popular actor expressed deep frustration and disappointment over the failure of leaders to deliver the peace and security once promised to Nigerians.

“How did we get here? We didn’t sign up for these at all? Where is the peace of mind, you promised us? Now we can’t sleep with our eyes closed.”

He further questioned the capability of security forces in tackling the menace:

“Are the Bandits smarter or wiser than our entire military force? Do they know Nigeria better than you do? Ah. It’s now closer to us than we think!! Government, please do the needful now.”

While many Nigerians sympathized with his concerns, the actor’s outburst attracted significant backlash, with critics reminding him of his past support for the current administration during elections. Some netizens accused him of hypocrisy, with comments like:

“Coming from someone that supported the present government.”

There were also references to “City boy” affiliations trending in reactions to his post.

The development comes amid fresh waves of abductions, banditry, and killings that have left families across the country in mourning, with recent incidents in Oyo State and other regions keeping national anxiety high.
